iPhone XS is a device that runs on Apple A12 Bionic processor. It possesses a Face ID technology. iPhone XS has a 5.8 inch HDR OLED display. The device supports wireless charging. It is a device with a 4GB RAM. IPhone XS has various storage extensions (64GB/256GB/512GB Storage) which are not expandable. It possesses a dual 12 megapixel camera with Smart HDR. It supports dual SIM (eSIM) and it is IP68 certified.

There are 2 models of iPhone XS (iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max). The iPhone XS has a better screen, an extra camera and fascinating design when compared to the iPhone XR.

1. iPhone XS Design

iPhone XS comes with a stainless steel body with an edge to edge screen display. The possession of a glass back facilitated the phone’s new wireless charging feature. The iPhone XS possesses a polished steel and glass which is slippery. iPhone XS is considered one of the best looking smartphone in 2018.

iPhone XS is upgraded with the IP68 certification compared to the formal IP67. This offers a better protection against liquid (water) when submerged in to them. It can last up to 30 minutes under 2 meters of water.

2. iPhone XS Screen

The screen reaches to the edge of the front of the phone with round corners and a notch. The screen offers a dual purpose. It offers faster Face ID face unlocking and also a means of facial expressions when using the Animoji and the newly introduced Memoji features built in the iOS 12. The device has a 7nm chip which runs on the A12 Bionic SoC. This is what powers the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and the iPhone XR. The performance of the iPhone XS is absolutely top notch with a 4GB which is also present in the iPhone XS Max. The A12 Bionic chip offers a 15% increase in CPU performance over the formal A11 Bionic chip. It also brings a 50% boost to graphical performance.

The phones loud speaker set up is great. The smartphone has a robust speaker that matches closely with that of the existing loud speaker of the iPhone X. The sound of the ear piece is clearer.

4. iPhone XS Software

iPhone XS runs on iOS 12 which can now be upgraded to iOS 12.1. With iOS 12, the notifications are now grouped by the apps and this makes it easier to manage. There is also a report at the end of every week on the screen time. The screen time monitors how much time you spent while using the iPhone. This feature can be used to lock off some social media apps.

The updated iOS 12.1 introduces the Group Face Time, Dual SIM support and some amazing Emojis.

5. iPhone XS Camera

There is no doubt that Apple smartphones possess quality cameras which are suitable for taking amazing pictures. Apple added the new Smart HDR to the camera technology. There is a pair of 12 megapixel sensors both with the Optical Image Stabilization (OIS).

The main snapper sports a 26mm focal length and f/1.8 aperture. The secondary lens features a narrower f/2.4 aperture and a 52mm focal length. This in turn gives the iPhone XS a 2x optical zoom ability. This 2x optical zoom ability is not present on a singled lens rivals like Google’s Pixel 2.

The device can take stunning shots on various scenarios with great exposure in both bright and dark areas. The portrait mode has received a better upgrade too. iPhone XS is capable of shooting videos. It can shoot in 4K at 60fps (frame per seconds) while retaining its optical stabilization. This powerful feature has been improved further by introducing the HDR capture with an impressive, quick automatic contrast. It also has an exposure adjustment and stereo audio recording. The smart HDR helps to retain detail in the shaded foreground and sunlight background.

6. iPhone XS Battery Life

The battery has the capacity of 2658mAh. It has a lesser capacity than the iPhone X and iPhone XR with 2716mAh and 2942mAh respectively. The iPhone XS Max battery capacity is the biggest with 3174mAh.

The battery is more technically smaller to that of its predecessor (iPhone X) but has a 30 minutes duration advantage on the usage of its predecessor. The phone is equipped to handle a day usage on a single charge.

iPhone XS doesn’t support the USB-PD fast charging. It comes with a 5W plug. The iPhone XS can take a long time to charge completely full. It might take up to three and half hours to charge completely full. There is improvement in the wireless charging too.
